With a dedication to building green homes, Taylor Wimpey will ensure that each new home at Academy Central will achieve a “Code Level 3” Sustainable Homes standard. This means that they will be at least 25% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2006 Building Regulations Standards.
How do we make Academy Central homes eco friendly? We reduce our carbon emissions through higher levels of insulation and energy efficient boilers, whilst our centralised district heating system, an all encompassing solution for the supply of heat and hot water, provides additional environmental benefits.
Academy Central could only be considered as a development of green homes if we ensured a reduced level of water consumption and an increased natural awareness. Our eco homes come equipped with water butts in the gardens and a number will feature “green roofs,” helping to improve air quality, natural insulation and promote bio-diversity. We are also undertaking a massive tree planting project to ensure that the area retains its natural beauty and eco friendly status.
